Delete in-line element when Track Changes on.

Post by sanGeoff »

I just noticed a little odd behavior that two writers have pointed out to me.

When track changes are off, if you have the cursor immediately following an in-line
start or end tag and press delete, the tag around content will correctly be removed.

If track changes are on however, nothing happens.
Is this by design since the stripping of the tags may be hard to mark-up in track changes?
Delete Element Tags (Alt+Shift+X) works fine though.

Hi,

Thanks for the report. I understand the situation.
We do not have a special change tracking way to mark unwrapped elements. So when BACKSPACE or DEL is pressed on an inline start tag and change tracking is ON, indeed maybe Oxygen could delete with change tracking enabled that entire element and then insert before it its contents (also with change tracking enabled). I will add an issue and we'll study this possibility on our side.
If this will get fixed we'll try to update the forum post.

Hi,

Oxygen 18.0 should have the behavior improvement I previously suggested included.
