Find All, choose color of highlight in XML editor (Graphite them)

Post by RBVanDyke »

For oXygen XML 17.1: In Appearance --> Colors, add a new option for the color of Highlight Found Text. (Sorry in advance if this is already configurable and I simply couldn't find it.)

IF I do a a Find All, oXygen XML 17.1 highlights matches with a medium-gray background color. I would like to be able to specify that color. Especially in the Graphite them because the medium-gray highlight isn't especially visible against the Graphite theme editor's dark-dark-gray background.

Cheers & thanks,
Riley

Hi,

The option that you search is named "Find highlight color" and it is included in the "Highlights" section from the "Editor" Preferences page.
We will try to find a way to make all the colors options more accessible and we will try to find a proper color for find highlights in graphite theme.
Thank you for your feedback!

First, thanks for your help -- don't know how I missed the "Find highlight color" setting.

For now I have *tentatively* chosen #CCFF99 / RGB 204, 255, 153. This color is almost certainly a TERRIBLE choice for 99-percent of other oXygen XML users. And after I use this color for a while I may well decide it's a bad choice.

My point being that I'm happy to respond to your question but I do NOT recommend using my bizarre if not tasteless color preference as a new default value -- I have *terrible* color sense...

Cheers & thanks 'gain,

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that we have changed the default color for find highlights in graphite theme, in Oxygen 18.

Thank you again for your feedback!

Best regards,

Thanks for the follow-up. If possible without a lot of effort, what's the new default? I ask because I have quite a few customized settings, and am afraid that restoring my settings just to see the new line highlight default then importing my saved settings might not restore all my customizations.

In any event, thanks to all who fixed this one.

Cheers & thanks 'gain,
