Vertical WebHelp Tabs

Post by kmank »

I ran across an issue where viewers of oXygen-transformed webhelp, using the same version of IE will see the tabs (Content, Search, Index) differently. Some see the tabs horizontally as it should be and some see them rendered vertically. The version of IE doesn't seem to affect as I have seen the same results in IE 10 and IE 11. Of course, I can't ask all customers to use Chrome, in which it has always displayed correctly.

Has anyone seen this and have a solution?

Hello,

When the tabs (Content, Search, Index) are rendered vertically, the Internet Explorer uses compatibility view for rendering WebHelp pages. If you use the latest build of Oxygen v17.0, the IE should not start in the compatibility mode.

Please make sure that your IE do not use compatibility mode. You can check this as follows:
- Open the WebHelp in the IE
- Press F12 to open "Developer Tools"
- Select the "Emulation" tab.
- Check the "Document mode" option
