Custom Actions for Text Mode

Hi,

why do easy customization options exist only in the Author Mode? I can create a custom action, assign it a shortcut and even a menu icon, but to do the same for Text View one needs to use the Plugin SDK.

Why not make this super-easy way to customize Oxygen available to the Text Mode as well?

Hi Toma,

The purpose of these custom actions was from the start to be used in the Author Mode, so they are tightly coupled with the Author environment. Bringing such a level of customization into the Text Mode would involve redesigning the whole custom actions architecture, or building a parallel one specially for the Text editor.
I will bring your request into discussion with the decision making persons, and if further steps will be taken in this direction we will let you know.
