format and indent a map?
Post here questions and problems related to editing and publishing DITA content.
Re: format and indent a map?
Hi Sbodoff,
Unfortunately, currently it is not possible to perform a batch Format and Indent operation over a set of files.
In order to F&I multiple topics, you could enable the "Format and indent the document on open" option from oXygen menu Options > Preferences > Editor > Format.
All you should do next would be to open the topics you want to format and indent and save them, as they would be automatically formatted.
However, I've logged your feedback as an improvement request in our issue tracking system.
The use-case will be analyzed and probably we could make this possible in a future version of oXygen.
Cheers,
Costin

Re: format and indent a map?
Hello,
This has not been implemented yet (v16.1).
However, there has been some interest in this feature, so this is coming sooner rather than later.
Regards,
Adrian

Re: format and indent a map?
Many thanks for adding this in V17.
I don't wish to sound ungrateful but...
Is there any chance of getting this added to the Map Manager or main menu? We're not using projects, so it's a bit out of the way.
Anyway, thanks for the response to the initial request.
Cheers,
Eddie.

Re: format and indent a map?
Hi Eddie,
We could consider this.
Would it be enough for you if we add the action to the main Tools menu?
Are your DITA Maps located on the local disk or on a remote location?
Regards,
Radu

Re: format and indent a map?
Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
The Tools menu would be fine, thanks.
The maps are stored in a version control system, but always downloaded to the writer's local machine for editing.
Cheers,
Eddie.
