Switching Projects - Global Settings Not Retained 16.1
Hi All:
Let me apology ahead of time since I am a newbie. I have attempted to search the forum posts, but could not find an answer to my problem. When in the Options > Preferences window of Oxygen Author 15.2, I would switch between 'Project Options' and 'Global Options' and a pop-up with the follow dialog would appear:
"You are about to switch from project to global options.
Would you like to overwrite the existing global options from this page?"
This dialog would have 3 possible choices 'Overwrite', 'Preserve', or 'Cancel'. I would usually select 'Preserve' so as to not lose any settings of the mode that I would switch to. Now in 16.1 when I attempt the same operation, I do not receive the dialog. No matter what I have done so far, the 'Global Options' and 'Project Options' would have the same settings. It is like the Project and Global settings are the same since contents is overwritten. Is there a to control whether that dialog pops-up? If not, is there a way to be sure that you can maintain previous settings and not have them overwritten? Thanks for the help.
Regards,
John

Re: Switching Projects - Global Settings Not Retained 16.1
Hello,
We've discussed this in private, but in case anyone else encounters this, I'm including it here.
The dialog in question was removed in v16.0 and the default behavior is to always Overwrite the options. So, in v16.0 and 16.1 there's no way to Preserve the options when switching. This means you can't actually switch back and forth between the global and project sets of options and keep intact the existing options from each set (like it was possible in v15.2 with Preserve). When you press Apply or OK, you overwrite the options from that set of options with whatever is in the option page GUI at that time.
v17.0 restores the dialog and functionality from v15.2 regarding Project <-> Global option switching. One difference in the behavior from v17.0 when compared to v15.2 is that it doesn't show the dialog (there's nothing to preserve) when no options exist stored in the project for that option page.
Regards,
Adrian
