End tags cutting off inside text in Author mode of Mac
Hello,
I have a writer who is using oXygen Author 16.1 on a Mac. He is having problems with the end tags of elements cutting off the text inside of it. For example:
This is what it looks like in Text Mode:
What he'll see in Author mode is this instead:

(You can see the image better here: http://postimg.org/image/ynd2hcrzd/)
Note that this is only happening on Macs.
Is there a setting somewhere to prevent this from happening? Writers should be working with the tags on, to better know where they're inserting material, but this is making it impossible to work on Macs.

Hello,
Could you please send us a problem report (Oxygen menu > Help > Report Problem) from one of the Macs where this problem is occurring?
Regards,
Adrian

Re: End tags cutting off inside text in Author mode of Mac
Hi,
We've had similar reports from people who used the COMMAND + to zoom the font in the Author mode instead of increasing the Author font in the Fonts preferences page.
If this is not the case, could the writer also try to install side by side and try the Oxygen 16.1 kit which comes with Java 1.8 bundled?

Hi Radu and Adrian,
Sorry for the late response! My writer has just submitted the report via the Help menu,
As for Command +, he says this:
Cheers,
Anne

Thanks again for any help in this regard! However, the second suggestion mentions installing oxygen 16.1 with Java 1.8 bundled. Isn’t that our current version?
At any rate, I’m already running Java 8.45. And I do have increased fonts which I set via the Fonts preference page rather than using command +.
Cheers,
Anne

Re: End tags cutting off inside text in Author mode of Mac
Hello Anne,
We know of this overlapping problem in Author mode with Java 7 and 8 when using a logical font (like Serif) for the Author mode. When running Oxygen with Java 6 on OS X, this does not happen.
A quick fix is to set the Author font to a physical font, like Times New Roman (in Options > Preferences, Fonts, Author default font).
The report we received indicated that Oxygen was running with Java 7u45. We also replied directly to the reporter's email address. I've just forwarded it to you as well.
Regards,
Adrian

Re: End tags cutting off inside text in Author mode of Mac
Thank you for the update, Adrian!! We created the .sh script so that oXygen launches with all our customizations in it, so we will work with our writer on what will be best practice. We are leaning towards just not supporting Macs entirely, since that's our group policy.
Thank you again for taking a look into this and we will let you know if we have additional questions.
