Open/Find Resource in Japanese Version

Post by Eddie »

Hello,
I'm trying to work out the way "Open/Find Resource" is supposed to work with Japanese text. (Using V16.1 on Japanese OS, having switched to Japanese language display.)

For example, if I search for "画面" in files that I know contain that word, I get no hits. But if I just search for "画", I get multiple hits, including the word "画面".

Is this correct? It seems buggy, but maybe it's meant to be that way.

Cheers,

Eddie.

Hi Eddie,

Indeed the Open/Find Resource functionality does not work properly with Japanese content. I will add an issue for this and we'll try to improve this behavior.

Hi,

Just to update this thread, Oxygen 18.1 has in the Preferences->Open/Find Resource a setting which can be used to state the content language.

Thanks for replying!

Sorry, but I've only just noticed this.

By Preferences->Open/Find Resource, do you mean the Options link in the Open/Find Resource dialog?

(It seems to be working anyway, so thanks for fixing it.)

Hi Eddie,

Right, the Options link in the Open/Find Resource dialog is a shortcut to go to that preferences page.
Thanks for confirming this works for you.
