Re: Update without java
Hi,
We always recommend downloading the appropriate distribution kit for your platform that includes the bundled Java runtime.
There is a good reason for this. We throughly test Oxygen against that specific version of the Java runtime that we bundle and we patch any problems that we find. This way we can ensure that we offer the best experience for the end user.
Newer versions of the Java runtime can have bugs that can disrupt some of the application functionality or in extreme cases completely break it. We've had some unpleasant experiences with this kind of thing in the past and the bundled Java runtime solution has been proven to be the better option in the long run.
Having said that, if you really feel you're better off with the latest Java runtime rather than the one bundled with Oxygen, you can download the All platforms (.tar.gz) distribution available here:
http://www.oxygenxml.com/download_oxyge ... tml?os=All
Follow the Run instructions from the download page to start the application on the corresponding platform.
Regards,
Adrian
