iPad version
I'd love an iPad version of oXygen.
Truth to be told, the lack of a good XML editor is the only reason I still carry regularly a MacBook when visiting customers. The iPad would be more convenient, both in terms of weight and it's a better tool for note taking.
There are several options to convert Java to iOS such as Codename One http://www.codenameone.com/ or j2objc https://code.google.com/p/j2objc/ but, obviously, you would need to redo the UI for touch interface.
If it proves too difficult to port the whole app, my priorities would be on developer tools and, more specifically, XML file editing (with autocompletion), XSLT, XQuery and XPath. The graphical editor for schema would be very helpful as well.

Re: iPad version
Hello,
Unfortunately, as much as we would like to port oXygen to iOS and offer an iPad version, it is a very difficult task to accomplish.
I've logged your request and we will consider it in the long term.
Regards,
Adrian

Re: iPad version
Hi,
just read this tweet about Oxygen for iPad:
https://twitter.com/joegollner/status/4 ... 1649756160
Can you please provide more info? Really looking forward to this. Been waiting a long time for such an app. I'm definitely interested in beta testing.
Thanks!

Re: iPad version
Hi Shannon,
We showed a preview of the new oXygen web/mobile editing platform at our users meetup in Munich. This is a webapp that runs oXygen Author on the server and pushes the visual interface as HTML5+Javascript on the client so you can use it with any device that has a browser supporting HTML5 and Javascript. We develop this mainly with a focus on mobile devices but it works also on desktops. In my demo yesterday I presented XML review and XML editing support for any XML vocabulary, showing DocBook, DITA and some random XML documents on an iPad.
Best Regards,
George

Re: iPad version
We will have an early access available in January, that will be distributed to some of our partners that want to integrate this in their solutions.
The web/mobile editing platform is planned to be generally available in the same time with the oXygen 16 release, most probably the end of May.
Best Regards,
George
