Poor UI performance over remote desktop (RDP)
Whenever I use OxygenXML Developer (14.2) over a remote desktop (rdp) connection, the UI is very very slow to respond. When switching to another program (via alt-tab or clicking something on the taskbar), or even attempt to scroll within an editor tab, it takes a second or so where a horizontal line slowly moves from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen updating the view. Other programs do not do this when using the same rdp connection.
Both the host machine and the client machine are running Windows 7 x64. It doesn't seem to make much of a difference whether I'm on a higher speed connection or a lower speed connection (the same problem occurs even if I'm directly on the same LAN as the host machine).

Re: Poor UI performance over remote desktop (RDP)
Hello,
While it's normal for Oxygen (and Java applications in general) to repaint the entire window (when you switch applications or minimize/restore) slower than native applications over RDP, what you are experiencing does not seem normal behavior. We work a lot with Oxygen over RDP, especially in the same LAN and have not experienced a distractingly slower response than other applications.
Note however that this can become more apparent over slow network connections (lower bandwidth) or if you enforce a severely limited bandwidth in the RDP client options.
If you access this RDP over a VPN, it's also possible that the bandwidth is more limited than you are expecting (due to encryption).
Try opening an image in the Windows image preview tool, zoom as much as you can and scroll the image left/right or up/down using the scroll bars. Does that feel laggy and slow to repaint over RDP?
Regards,
Adrian

Re: Poor UI performance over remote desktop (RDP)
It looks like the image zoom lags similarly. Also, I have found that if I close oxygenxml and restart it from within the RDP session, it displays somewhat more smoothly.
