Generate IDs through menu (not right-click)
Nice to have - I would like to see the option to generate IDs available through one of the menu bar menus. Perhaps in the Dita menu near the ID Options? At present this option seems to only be available by right-clicking a point or a selected range and then choosing Generate IDs.

Hello,
The DITA menu is customizable so you can add the Generate IDs action in it. Just go to Option->Preferences... and on the Document Type Associations page edit the DITA document type. Go into the Author, Menu tabs. In the Available actions table locate the action with ID generate.ids and use the "Add as child"/"Add as children" buttons on the right of the table to add it in the menu.
I'll also add a feature request to add the action by default in the DITA menu.
Best regards,
Alex

Re: Generate IDs through menu (not right-click)
Very helpful. That solved my problem. I really appreciate the high level of customizability provided by the Options->Preferences... menu.
I do think it would be nice to have that appear somewhere by default in the menus. Thanks for putting that in as a possible future improvement. Part of why I like to see functions in menus is that it can tell me something about how the application creator sees the function fitting into the broader context of the app - much like how a TOC can tell you about how concepts relate to each other in a document...And I think of it as a fairly standard UI design practice to have functions available in the menus...And I think it can help with accessibility to be able to use alt keys to get to functions.
