Can not drag and drop files into Oxygen Author 11.2

Post by rsullivan »

Hi,

Recently upgraded to Windows 7 (x64) but can no longer drag and drop files into the editor to open them. I have to go the long way round of Ctrl+O. :)

Dragging the file over the editor produces the "no can do" icon but I'm able to open the xml files in other editors. I can also drag and drop files elsewhere in the system which is why I think this might be related to Oxygen.

I've hunted through the Options > Preferences for something I may have overlooked but still no joy.

I'm sure this is simple...any suggestions?

Many thanks

Hi,

If you have just installed Oxygen and chose to run it directly from the installer when it finished, restart the application and it should work fine.

If that's not it, make sure the application is running with normal privileges (NOT as administrator and NOT in compatibility mode).

Hi Adrian,

Thanks for quick response.

I've checked that I'm running it with normal privileges and not in compatibility mode but still no luck. Have also restarted the application for good measure.

Cheers

Hi,

It should work, I've tested with 11.2 and found no problems with dragging a file from Windows Explorer and dropping it in Oxygen in the editor area. It was opened as expected.

What kind of file are you dropping into Oxygen and from what application are you dragging it?
Is the file located in the local file system or is it a remote file?
Is the file located inside a ZIP archive?

Are you dropping it in the editor area from Oxygen?
