Character Map filter

I was wondering if there is a way to customize the Character Map (Edit/Insert from Character Map...) in order to display just the small subset of special characters that our users would actually use.

Hi Glenn,

Right now there is no such feature available in Oxygen.
But we plan in the future to have a way for users to define a set of special characters and have them displayed on a special toolbar for example. So I added your vote for this.

Usually the workaround I suggest for this is to create code templates like:

Hi Glenn,

We just released Oxygen 15.0 a couple of days ago.
In Oxygen 15.0 we added a special toolbar drop-down button called "Symbols" which can be used to group some of the recently used symbols from the Character Map dialog.
