Download Oxygen WITHOUT Java and use existing Java? Portable
Can I download somewhere an Oxygen version WITHOUT Java?
I want to install Oxygen but use another, already existing Java installation on my computer.
Second question: Is there a portable version of Oxygen? I want to run it from USB Stick.

Re: Download Oxygen WITHOUT Java and use existing Java? Portable
Hello,
If you want a cross-platform Oxygen distribution that doesn't have a bundled JRE, you can use the "All platforms" kit(oxygen.tar.gz):
http://www.oxygenxml.com/download_oxyge ... r.html#All
However, if you are only running Oxygen on one platform, Windows, I would recommend using the Oxygen kit with bundled JVM if possible. There's a zip kit for Windows with a bundled JRE:
http://www.oxygenxml.com/InstData/Edito ... oxygen.zip
Using the latest version of the Java SE JRE is not necessarily the best thing. Also, running Oxygen with the system installed JVM(of different versions for different systems) means exposing the user to unknown bugs from the various JVM versions. This is without mentioning the heap of problems that arise from the incompatibility with open source JREs(GNU, OpenJDK) that could be installed on the user's machine(especially on Linux).
Both kits mentioned above(oxygen.tar.gz, oxygen.zip) are portable, you can deploy them on a USB stick. For licensing, to avoid re-entering the license on each system you will have to create in the Oxygen directory a file named licensekey.txt with the nine lines of text of the license key(located between the license key start and end markers).
Please note that if you include the license key this way on the USB stick, only the licensed user(from the license key) is allowed(legally) to use this USB stick.

Adrian
