External Editors

I'm sure this has probably been asked before (I did search), but is it possible to add external editors for data source resources? For example, it would be really nice to be able to right click an SVG graphic located on a Webdav/Documentum data source and open it within Illustrator or Inkscape.

Hello Brian,

Unfortunately this is not possible yet(as of v12.2) for Documentum(CMS) connections, only internal Oxygen editors can be used(and also the Image Preview). But this feature should be easy to accommodate in a future version of Oxygen.
The only workaround I see is to export the file from the Documentum repository to your file system and open it from there.


For FTP/WebDAV(including over a Documentum repository) there is a simpler workaround. First open the file in Oxygen, then from the contextual/popup menu of the Oxygen editor choose Open -> Open in System Application.
