Spell check - sharing a dictionary within a team

Post by art »

A project team needs to spell check the DITA topics they authored. Quiete a few terms need to be "learned" as they are not part of the standard dictionary. I'd like to distribute the user specific dictionary to all project team members, e.g. using SVN. However it seems as if the dictionary needs to rest in a specific location inside the file hierarchy (e.g. "Application Support" folder for Windows XP).

Is there a way to specify a dictionary file at a location of one's choice to allow for sharing that file inside a team of authors?

Hello,

I'm afraid you cannot use a dictionary from a custom location.

The main dictionary files(.dic and .aff) must be located either in the <UserDirectory>\Application Data folder(per user) or in the <OxygenIntallationFolder>/dicts folder(per installation).

However, the file with the learned words(.tdi) can only be placed in <UserDirectory>\Application Data
