jeuclid will not render entitiies

Post by expatriate »

Hi
Using Editor 12.1, build 2011012011, I'm seeing a new problem with jEuclid failing to render entities in MathML. The entities are listed and seem to be recognised OK; they're just not rendered in the Author view, which is a nuisance.

Any idea what I've broken?

Hi Pat,

Can you give me a small XML sample of what exactly you are editing and some steps to reproduce the problem?

Hi Radu
Sorry for the slow response.
I'm using MathFlow, but the problem doesn't arise from that.
1. Open a new document on the 'Composite with MathML' template
2. Replace variable m in Line 27 with the entity 'α'
3. Equation will no longer render.
The value for alpha is 'α'.

Cheers

Hi Pat,

So did you install MathFlow in the Oxygen Preferences->"Editor / Pages / Author / MathML" page?
If so then MathFlow will be used both for rendering the equations in the Author page and for editing them.

We also tested using JEuclid to render the entity both in the Author page and when publishing the PDF and could not reproduce the situation.

Maybe you can write us on the support email address and provide more details (maybe screenshots) in order for us to better understand the situation.

Hi Patrick,

We managed to reproduce the situation.

You probably have a license for the MathFlow Structure Editor but it does not include the MathFlow Equation Composer.
Thus Oxygen edits equations using MathFlow but it uses JEuclid to render them in the Author page (as the Composer is not licensed).

In this case the JEuclid is not given sufficient information to render the equation. We found and fixed the problem and the fix will be available in Oxygen 12.2 (which will probably be available in a month).
