Importing external tools settings
Hi,
When I upgraded to 12, I lost a bunch of customizations that I had done to my External Tools settings.
Is there a particular prefs or settings file that I can grab from an old installation to move settings across, without having to manually re-enter?
I'm on OS X, btw.

Re: Importing external tools settings
Hello,
The options are imported automatically from the previous found version. But if this fails for some reason you can manually import the options from the old version(Options -> Import Global Options).
Depending on the platform the options folder is located as follows:
- Windows XP - [user-home-folder]\Application Data\com.oxygenxml
- Windows Vista/7 - [user-home-folder]\AppData\Roaming\com.oxygenxml
- Mac OS X - [user-home-folder]/Library/Preferences/com.oxygenxml
- Linux - [user-home-folder]/.com.oxygenxml
The options files for Oxygen XML Editor are named like this:
oxyOptionsSa11.2.xml (where 11.2 is the version).
If you are using Oxygen XML Author add ".author" to the name of these folders.
e.g. [user-home-folder]\Application Data\com.oxygenxml.author
For the Oxygen XML Author the options files look like this:
oxyAuthorOptionsSa11.2.xml (where 11.2 is the version).
So, simply locate the options file of the old version depending on your platform(as described above) and import it in the new version.
Regards,
Adrian
