Shareware ?
Post by Guest »
Hi Georges,
I would like to know if Oxygen is a shareware because I see this is
in the europe-shareware Partner ?
I'm working for a company that is quite reserved with sharewares
because this is mainly a one man work and we work only with
companies with a solid support. This doubt comes also with your
price which is low compared to known tools like xmlspy.
May you clarify your status ?
Thank you,
Garry.

Hi Garry,
Oxygen is not one man work, it has a 6 years old company behind it with 10 developers actively involved in Oxygen development. We worked with XML since 1998 for different applications and started the Oxygen development in January 2002 making the first release at the end of April the same year. Since then the application evolved getting to the current state:
http://www.oxygenxml.com/index.html#new-version
http://www.oxygenxml.com/history.html
I'm not sure what shareware means these days, anyway, Oxygen, as most products, can be evaluated for 30 days before making a purchase decision. Europe-Shareware is one of our partners because they made and maintain the French translation of the interface and of the user guide and also they act as an Oxygen reseller.
Oxygen is not expensive but it does not have the lowest price on the market either. While other editors are referred to as terribly expensive oXygen gets comments like it's not free but it is not expensive either, see for instance Norman Walsh review of oXygen:

Our goal is to offer a quality product at a competitive price and so far I think we are heading in the right direction
.
Best Regards,
George
