Zoom in, Zoom out in the author view
Hi,
My users ask me how to zoom in the author view.
What is the best way to zoom in or zoom out?
There is the combination "ctrl" "+" or "-" but it only increase the font size and it is quite long on big document ...
Thank you,
Vincent.

Re: Zoom in, Zoom out in the author view
Hi Vincent,
We do not have a zoom in the Author which would work like a magnifier. Operating systems usually have applications which can be used to magnify a certain part of the screen.
Indeed the zoom increases the font size (and can also be done using Ctrl+Mouse Wheel Scroll like in a web browser).
What do you mean that it's quite long on a large document? Do you mean that it takes a while to re-compute the page layout?
What exactly do the users want to see better when zooming? Images?
Regards,
Radu

Re: Zoom in, Zoom out in the author view
Thank you for your quick answer Radu,
Yes, it takes a while to re-compute the page layout. (~4 sec sometimes on the biggest files)
In my case, it's not a question of image rendering.
Just a matter of reactivity. In practice, I think the user do not change the zoom too often... perhaps it will be OK.
Nevertheless, if you plan to implement such a magnifier, let me know !

Re: Zoom in, Zoom out in the author view
Hi Vincent,
The problem is that when they increase the font, probably users would also like to have the text content wrapped in the available visible region (unlike how a generic magnifier works), so the layout still needs to be re-computed in order to wrap the text content in visible lines. That's how a browser zooms. But in addition to Oxygen, a browser also increases the images, so it does more than a font increase.
