File Open Dialog issues Mac

Not sure this is a Mac issue but just in case. When I have a file open dialog I often but not always am unable to double click on a folder to open it and drill down. moving to another item in the list and then back sometimes fixes it but not usually. This is not new I'm pretty sure it's been happening for months but I finally realized I should ask about it.

I'm also working on a Mac with Oxygen but I never experienced such a problem, I'm working with the touchpad. Are you using the touchpad or a physical mouse? What version of Oxygen are you using?

I would not have guessed. Yes I'm using an apple magic mouse and yes the trackpad does not have the problem.
Oxygen XML Editor 26.0, build 2023100905 will update to 26.1 in a few days a bit busy now.
I don't have problems with the mouse on anything else or I would lose my mind.
Any idea what the issue is?

Hi Bob,
Not sure how to proceed, we do not implement the file chooser ourselves so we do not have control over how it handles clicking, I assume somehow the events it receives from the mouse are sometimes incomplete. If you look in the Oxygen Preferences->"Global" page there is a "Use platform file chooser" checkbox, is it checked or not on your side (by default it should be checked)?

Solved! I did NOT have Use platform file chooser checked. I checked it and have not been able to reproduce the issue with it checked. Unchecking it again and the issue re-appears. I believe that "platform file chooser" is the magic bullet for this issue. Not sure how/when it got unchecked. I have been using Oxygen for a LONG time maybe it is a newer option and the migrations from vX to vY over the years missed it?

Hi Bob,
Great, the platform file chooser is almost a native Finder window, sometimes we detect or consider that we detect a crash when showing it so we switch to the backup chooser which looks ugly and performs worse. So indeed you can manually check the "Use platform file chooser" checkbox in the Oxygen "Preferences->Global page" to bring it back.
