Documentation statement about required Java version

Post by yvesforkl »

Hi,

the documentation page about Installing Oxygen XML Editor on Windows at https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... ndows.html claims:
Oxygen XML Editor only supports official and stable Java Virtual Machines with version 17 from Oracle.
Obviously the dependency on Oracle Java is not true any longer because Oxygen XML Editor is now bundled with OpenJDK, as can be seen in the
Downloads page.

Please correct this information to make it clearer for users which license will apply for the JRE that is installed together with the application.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Yves

Hi Yves,

I've logged this for our documentation department.
We were initially using OpenJDK from Oracle (up to 17.0.2/Oxygen v24.1), but have switched to Eclipse Adoptium (Temurin) since v25.0, the reason being LTS for Java 17.

Thanks,
Adrian
