"Read Time Out" issue

Post by ivanre »

Hello everybody,
I am writing to you because of an issue that I have since yesterday. I am working on a project as a scholar using XML editor to mark historical documents for a university project called "Fiscus" https://github.com/FiscalEstate/Fiscus . I have been working with XML editor since November 2021 and had never problems but now the editor doesn't open XML files, if it does it takes longer times to load and the Author visualisation is not working properly because the XML Editor cannot read the Epidoc schema that is used by Fiscus.
The schema URL is this: http://www.stoa.org/epidoc/schema/latest/tei-epidoc.rng
I tried to open it in a browser but it doesn't load as well as the main page https://www.stoa.org

So my point is: the issue is something related to the schema URL which doesn't load or is it something related to XML Editor? Sorry for not providing more technical details as I am an humanist that is working with a user-friendly version of the XML Editor which was created particularly for people who are not used to write codes. I can attach a screenshot of the editor

Hi,

The read time out you receive is indeed related to the fact that the RelaxNG schema referenced by the XML document is no longer accessible for Oxygen to load. And this is true, the schema cannot be accessed even from the web browser.
If you have other means to downlaod the RNG schema from somewhere, Oxygen has support for XML catalogs to map external schema references in the XML documents to local resources:
https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... alogs.html
Oxygen uses information from the Relax NG schema associated to the XML documents for lots of things including validation, content completion, serialization of the XML structure so it's quite important that the information is available to it.

Radu
