JQUERY 3.1.1 Compatible with Latest XML Editor?
Hi,
I'm currently licensed to use Oxygen XML Editor 17.1 Professional.
Due to a security requirement, the software that I'm documenting, and the webhelp output that's a part of it, must adhere to Jquery 3.1.1.
Currently, my editor uses jquery 1.12.1.
We tried updating the jquery.min.js file in the resources/js folder with the latest but the classic webhelp output suffered from an unusable TOC. A debug revealed nearly 25 lines of defective code in TOC.js due to the jquery.min.js upgrade.
A developer suggested that it will be best to update Oxygen Editor to the latest version (ver 20?) to fix this issue since its no longer a matter of just replacing the jquery.min.js file.
My question is, if I make the upgrade, will the the latest version of XML Editor be compatible with jquery 3.1.1? What other benefits will there be for this upgrade, from the perspective of a novice Editor 17.1 user?
Thanks,
Vinny

Re: JQUERY 3.1.1 Compatible with Latest XML Editor?
Hello,
There is out-of-the-box support for jQuery 3.1.1 in the latest version (v20) of oXygen, as it comes bundled with the jQuery JavaScript Library 3.1.1.
Therefore, yes, by upgrading the the latest version of oXygen, you will benefit of jQuery 3.1.1.
For a detailed description of all the new features introduced starting with version 18 and until present, you should take a look over the "What Is New" sections, appropriate to each of the released versions:
https://www.oxygenxml.com/xml_editor/whatisnew20.0.html
To see the what is new section for older releases (like v19.1, v19.0, v18.1 and v18.0), just click on the button appropriate to each milestone in the release history bar at the top of the above mentioned page.
