Getting Started

Post by dutchg »

Hi. I just downloaded Oxygen Author. I am new to working in an XML WYSIWYG app, which how I'll be using this--writing a manual. I'm just trying to find the quickest way to get my head around the app. I know I don't need in-depth understanding of XML in order to author in this software, but I need to figure out the main functionality and features of the app. The in-app help files assume more knowledge than I have and they aren't step-by-step enough for me. Can anyone point me to a resource--book or web, I don't care--that provides a real easy intro for a tender newbie such as I?

THANKS,
Dutch

Hello,

You could start with the video demonstrations that are provided on our website:
http://www.oxygenxml.com/videos.html#vt ... XMLEditing
Skip the first half from the Visual XML Editing section(it's more advanced stuff), start with the DocBook Editing in Author and watch as many as you can up to and including WYSIWYG TEI Editing.
