Diable Drag ad Drop in XML Editor

Post by sarcanon »

Hello.
Can we please have an option to disable drag and drop editing in the XML Editor? I inadvertently make these edits all too often, and I don't want them.
Apologies if this capability exists, but I cannot find it in the Preferences Dialog. I see the ability to disable Drag and Drop in Author mode, as well as in the Strcture Outline and Project Views, but not the XML Editor.
Thank you.

Hello,

I admit that I can't really figure out how drag & drop support is annoying you when editing XML documents in Text mode.
And why you feel the need for an option in Preferences to control the activation / deactivation of this support.
The only options in this regard are those for the Output and Project views, respectively.
The one you mentioned for the Author page is actually something else, it is rather related to our "smart paste" support.
Anyway, I will log your request, and adding an option in Preferences according to your request will be analyzed.
By the way, we have never received such a request before, you're the first who asks for it.

Best regards,
Teo

Thank you for your reply.
It happens quite regularly to me when making a selection of the text with the mouse. Rather than completing the selection as I drag (usually from right to left), halfway through the dragging motion, it switches to drag and drop mode, and moves the initial part of the selected text to the point where I release the mouse button. Perhaps once out of every 20 times I attempt to make a text selection.
