DITA Maps Manager - Displaying the file path instead of the topic title

Hello,

is it possible to display the file path instead of the topic title in the DITA Maps Manager? The file path including the topic title is briefly visible when opening a ditamap in the DITA Maps Manager. But then the topic title replaced this file path.

We are currently switching from FrameMaker, which had this option. I am aware that you are able to see the file path of each topic in the tooltip.

Sorry but we do not have such an option. I will add an issue for this but this is not something often requested.

One reason for this request is the fact that we publish our documents in several languages, including Japanese, Russian and Chinese. When opening a ditamap in one of those languages, the path and file name of a topic would help me much more than the topic title.

Thanks for providing an use case. One more question, if we add the option I was more inclined to present only the file name and not the full path. Or present something like fileName.dita - full/path/to/fileName.dita so that the file name is visible from the beginning without the user needing to horizontally scroll the tree.

For some topics that are shared between several projects, we use shared topic folders. Having the file path visible in the DITA Maps Manager would make it easy to quickly check whether a topic is located in the "shared" folder.

I like your suggestion (fileName.dita - full/path/to/fileName.dita) very much.

Ok, I will add these ideas to the issue. Maybe after the file name instead of the full path we could only show the value of the @href attribute on each topicref.

Just to update this thread, in the new Oxygen 18.1 in the Preferences->DITA page there is a setting to show the topic file names in the DITA Maps Manager view instead of the titles.
