Can you show us some screenshots? Please also explain why you want to remove the highlights...

Re: Select none?
I am probably not allowed to post an image from my employer. Here is an image of text with the first paragraph selected:

A reason to unselect text is to show all of the text to someone without them thinking you are indicating the highlighted text.

I'm sorry, but I don't recognize the UI in the screenshot. Could you please give me some details? Please explain your workflow, what tools you use, and what we see in the screenshot. Also give more details about what you would like to actually happen instead what you are seeing now...
By the way, when selecting a text it seems normal to me for the text to have a highlight... How else could you know that it is selected?

I've reordered the quotes here:
.
The text being highlighted is what I expect. After that, I want to go on to a new task. For that, I don't want text to be highlighted and nothing to be selected. How can I make that happen?sorin_carbunaru wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 10:09 amBy the way, when selecting a text it seems normal to me for the text to have a highlight... I am using Oxygen 26.1 to edit XML. I would like none of the text to be highlighted and nothing to be selected.sorin_carbunaru wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 10:09 am... It would be ideal if you could provide some screenshots of the actual problem and in-depth explanations of your use-case. As far as I understand, you have issues when editing in Oxygen 26.1, but the screenshot you provided seemed to be from a comments section in the published output... You could use some test samples, not the client's content.
The search highlights in Oxygen will dissapear when you close the Results view:
Do these not work?

The blue selection highlight should dissappear wen you click somewhere else.Do these not work?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Select none?
That does work, thanks!. I can close the results window, to remove the selections made from searching and I can remove a selection that was dragged by the mouse or keyboard by clicking anywhere in the editing area.
