Removing carriage returns

I love the pretty-print feature! It makes the XML structure so readable. However, the extra carriage returns and whitespace (spaces) is causing issues with our CCMS. Is there a way to quickly (i.e. a button) to remove said whitespace and returns from our files, so that they are compact for checkin?
Like an un-pretty-print button.

Hi Rick,

If you want everything to be on one line, in the Text editing mode select the entire content, right click, "Source->Join and Normalize Lines".
