Clarification in license server

Post by Raga Mounika »

Hi Team,

We currently have oXygen Eclipse running and we have a standalone floating license server. We wanted to move to HTTP License server. But, if we do that, we would need to ask users to feed in new config details to get license through HTTP server.
Is there a way that already existing users can switch to new server to get the license without doing any manual change in their client?
Or,
Can you suggest some other alternative?

Mounika

Hi Mounika,

If the end users manually entered the server details the first time, they will probably need to modify them now to the new license servlet details.
Or you can copy to their installation folder the new licensing details each time the license changes:

Hi Radu,
I thought I would post this question here because I'm looking to help a colleague solve a licensing issue. We use a licensing server, but he says he's been unable to use Oxygen (he's in v25) because of a licensing issue.
I'm thinking to send him my copy of license.xml and have him copy it into his own folder. The instructions from the link you shared says: Copy the license.xml file from the Oxygen XML Editor preferences directory to the installation folder on each installation to be registered.
By installation folder, do they mean [user_home_directory]\AppData\Roaming\com.oxygenxml?

Thanks,
Jen

Hi Jen,
This forum thread is from 7 years ago, the link is to the documentation for Oxygen 18.
Our newest licensing advice and documentation can be found here:
