Opening a cross reference link in new tab in Oxygen WebHelp
Post by ann.jensen »
Hello,
I have generated Oxygen WebHelp from DITA content and am unsure why I cannot successfully open cross reference links in a new tab on the browser.
My topic URL is as follows
If I select a cross reference link on this topic page it successfully goes to the following URL and displays the topic correctly.
However if I try to open that link in a new tab it goes to the following URL which is invalid.
Can anyone explain why the relative path details are lost when opening in a new tab?
Thanks,
Ann

Hello,
What version of Oxygen are you using?
I cannot reproduce this issue using the Oxygen version 17.1, build 2016032212.
Regards,
Bogdan

Hi,
I am building using an external instance of Oxygen WebHelp version 17.1 with DITA-OT 1.8.5.
However opening a link in a new tab operates fine when I build inside Oxygen XML Author 17.1, build 2015111718 using DITA-OT 1.8.*
Any advice appreciated,
Regards,
Ann

Hi Ann,
What version and build number of Oxygen WebHelp are you using? To check this you can open the genereated "index.html" file in Oxygen (or any other text editor) and look for a comment like:
I've tested with Oxygen WebHelp version 17.1 build 2016032212 and DITA-OT 1.8.5 but it works as expected.
Regards,
Bogdan

Hi Ann,
I was not able to reproduce this issue using Oxygen WebHelp version 17.1, build number 201511171.
Please check that you do not have a webhelp customization that triggers this issue.
Also you can check using a new, clean installation of Oxygen WebHelp into clean installation of DITA-OT.
Regards,
Bogdan

Thanks Bogdan,
I did as you advised and it all seems to be generating fine now.
I also see that this new version gives deeper breadcrumbs which is great
