Using DITA-OT 2.2 with oXygen 16.1
Post by stefanpopovic »
Hi,
I searched for this info but couldn't find it anywhere in the documentation. What is the procedure for using a different DITA-OT version than the one oXygen was shipped with? Do I simply need to modify the DITA scenario parameter dita.dir to point towards the new version directory? I suspect transformations created with oXygen DITA-OT might not work with a different version of the tool kit.
Any hints?
Thanks,
Stefan

Re: Using DITA-OT 2.2 with oXygen 16.1
Hi Stefan,
Setting up a new default DITA OT to use with Oxygen is quite easy to do with Oxygen 17.0 and 17.1 (there is a special Preferences->DITA page for this).
With Oxygen 16.1 and older indeed you would need to edit the transformation scenarios and change the dita.dir parameter to point to the external DITA OT.
Indeed in all cases, there might be transformations which will not work with the external DITA OT, depending on the plugins which are installed in it. For example the DITA OT bundled with Oxygen has a WebHelp plugin which is developed by us. An external DITA OT will not have that plugin installed by default.

Radu
