14.1 demo directory empty
Hi,
I installed version 14.1 today, pointing to a new install directory rather than installing over the old 14.0. I was surprised to find that ../frameworks/dita/DITA-OT/demo is empty! I read the readme file there, but it doesn't answer for me the question of what to do to preserve the changes I made to some select files there, in addition to the changes I added in the redirect (C:\Configuration) directory where such changes normally are located. Is the solution to copy over the old files from ../demo?
Also, is there a simple way to bring over the changes and additions I have made to my transformation scenarios?
Thanks,
Gary

Re: 14.1 demo directory empty
Hi Gary,
Oxygen 14.1 comes with DITA OT 1.6.1.
In DITA OT 1.6.1 the DITA OT plugin for creating PDF was moved to the folder:
OXYGEN_INSTALL_DIR\frameworks\dita\DITA-OT\plugins\org.dita.pdf2
The release changes of DITA OT 1.6 can be found here:
http://dita-ot.sourceforge.net/1.6.1/re ... el1.6.html
it also shows the changes that were made in the XSLT templates used in the PDF3 transformation.
But I understand that in your case you also made modifications to resources which were inside the DITA OT folder.
Besides trying to make the same modifications to the new DITA OT, another idea for you would be to have a separate DITA OT folder (outside of the Oxygen installation directory). For example you could copy the DITA OT from Oxygen 14.0 to a custom location.
Then you could modify in the transformation scenarios the dita.dir parameter to point to the custom DITA OT installation:
http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-oxygen/ ... ta-ot.html
In this way, once the publishing works for you with a certain DITA OT you could keep it unchanged and also benefit of using the latest version of Oxygen.

Radu

Re: 14.1 demo directory empty
Thanks for the tips, Radu. I wasn't clear in my last question regarding transformation scenarios. I have several transformation scenarios I created in version 14.0 which I would like to replicate in Author 14.1. As it stands, with the installation of 14.1, I only have access to the stock transformations, not the old ones I created. Is there a way to move the old ones over to the new version without having to recreate their parameters by hand?

Re: 14.1 demo directory empty
I just realized something which will help explain my problem. The transformation scenarios I'm speaking of are project-related ones. So, I guess a better way to ask my question is to say, can I migrate a project's transformation scenarios to other projects, or import them into projects in the new version of Author.

Re: 14.1 demo directory empty
Hi Gary,
Usually when a new Oxygen version is first started, it imports all previous options from the previous one.
I do not know why this did not work for you.
Anyway, as a workaround in the Oxygen Options menu you have actions to Export/Import Global Transformation Scenarios.

Re: 14.1 demo directory empty
Hi Gary,
Actually, when saved at project level, all scenarios go into a ".xpr" file which contains the project-related settings (the project currently opened in the Project view).
You can either use the same .xpr project in Oxygen 14.1 or in Oxygen 14.0 open the Transformation Scenarios view, select the scenarios, right click and export them, then import them in 14.1. The same thing can be done from the Configure Transformation Scenarios dialog.
