Profiling attributes for table rows

Post by bmayer »

Hi,

We use oXygen Author rel 13 within Eclipse for DITA XML. I have a couple of questions regarding profiling attributes for table rows. I searched the forum but didn't find anything and my apologies in advance if this is available in rel 14.

To condition an entire table row we click within the row and use the Attributes panel to set Audience, Product conditions etc. For all other elements we are able to click the element tag, right-click and select Edit Profiling Attributes.

- is there a way to use the Edit Profiling Attributes feature for an entire table row instead of using the Attributes panel?

- when enabling Show Profiling Attributes so that conditions appear in highlight in Author view, the condition and the highlight don't display for table rows. I assume this is because the row tags are not visible in Author view. Is there a way to show the profiling attributes in Author view for an entire table row? A workaround could be to add a comment to one of the row entries but I was wondering if there was a way to have it behave like all other elements.

Please let me know if any clarification is required.

Belinda

Hi Belinda,

You can select the entire row in the Outline view (or in the breadcrumb located in the top part of the Author page), then right click inside the selected content in the Author page and choose Edit Profiling Attributes.

In Oxygen 14.0 we added a new way to select an entire table row, just place the mouse pointer to the left of the row and the cursor will change allowing you to click and select it entirely. Then right click the selected content again.

This is still work in progress for us. But in Oxygen 14.1 (which will be released in a couple of weeks) you will at least see the green border around the entire row which has profiling attributes set to it. Probably in a future version the names and values of the set conditions will also show up.
Also in Oxygen 14.1, those profiling conditions which show up for each element when enabling Show Profiling Attributes will be editable in-place by clicking their displayed value.
