eclipse installation touble

... at first works quite well. After restarting eclipse Icons are available.
Functionality is not. Eclipse does not find oxygen's needed classes and
says something like "This functionality is not available".
So I cannot enter my eval code e.g.
Opening an XML file gives me a similar result. Eclipse knows it should
start oXygen, but does not find it.

Same with the zipped plugin which I just checked.

I'm using Eclipse 3.01, Java 1.4.2.

Hi,

It will help if you cna try the installation using the update site on a clean Eclipse install. You can unzip the Eclipse distribution in some folder, start it and follow the installation insatructions for the update site distribution.
If you still have problems look in the Error Log (Window->Show View->Other -- PDE Runtime -- Error Log) and let us know if there are some messages logged there.
