Abrupt Programm Termination

Hi,

since Upgrade from Version 11 to 12, Oxygen Editor on Windows XP sometimes terminates instantly with no error reporting (its simple disappear). I think this only happens if the internal svn client is opened and I try to open or save a (XML) file. Sometimes the file that I've changed and tried to save then have 0 kb an all the work is gone...

Hello,

If you are running Oxygen v12.0 with the SVN Client, you can avoid this problem by disabling the option: Automatically refresh the working copy from Options -> Preferences -> SVN -> Working copy
In Oxygen v12.1 and later this option is disabled by default.

Please let us know if the problem persists.

Hi, I'm using Editor 12.2, build 2011053115. The setting is probably imported through the global Import fuction from the previous settings file.

Just a note to say that 13.2 still has this same bug. When working with the SVN client if automatic refreshes are enabled the tool crashes on the first save of a file in a working copy.

We are aware of this, however, this bug is still in the analysis stage. I've noted your concerns to our issue tracking tool.

The native implementation of the file system monitor that is used by the SVN client for automatic refreshes has stability issues on some systems. We have been looking into replacing this implementation with a different one. A few possibilities have been evaluated, but so far each one seems to have its ups and downs, so it has been postponed.

Meanwhile, if you are experiencing stability issues with this option enabled in Oxygen, please leave it disabled (as it is by default). If you absolutely need this feature, please launch Syncro SVN Client outside of Oxygen with the dedicated application launcher from the Star Menu.
