FO output on Mac > missing pdf file suffix
Hello,
I don't know if this is a common problem or just some kind of misconfiguration on my Mac. It's also no big deal, but every time a little annoying when I generate a pdf file (using XEP).
I've set the transformation scenario to prompt me for the output file name. On Windows, this dialog proposes the cfn (current file name) plus ".pdf". On Mac it's only the cfn without any suffix. And even if I select in this dialog an existing pdf file, the dialog takes over the selected file's name only and skips its suffix.
Is there a possibility to configure oxygen to add the proper suffix automatically (as it does under Windows)?
Thank you in advance and best regards
Andreas

Re: FO output on Mac > missing pdf file suffix
Hello,
Thank you for reporting this.
I'm afraid this is a case of different platform behaviour that we have not considered at the time it was implemented. In Windows the file chooser that prompts you for the file name usually has a file type filter and it concatenates automatically the file extension of that file type. If the file type is generic(*.*) then it leaves the file extension as it is. On the Mac the same chooser is implemented differently and seems to only pick the file name and explicitly trim the extension.
Unfortunately I don't see how Oxygen could be configured to change this behaviour, this is a bug and we'll have to address it. The only workaround I see right now is to manually type the '.pdf' extension in the Mac chooser, every time...
I've added this to our bug tracking tool and we will resolve it in a future version of Oxygen.
Regards,
Adrian
