MathML templates: equation alignment

Post by expatriate »

Hello
I'm writing formula-heavy DocBook 5 articles, which I can begin either from a straight 'Article' template or from an 'Article with MathML' one. The second seems more logical, but it won't let me put an 'align' attribute on informal equations - a real nuisance. What's the essential difference between these templates, and which should I be using, please?

Hi Pat,

As far as I know the Docbook 5 RNG schema (or Docbook 4 DTD schema) does not allow specifying the align attribute for an equation or informalequation.
See the specification here:
http://www.docbook.org/tdg5/en/html/inf ... ation.html

Can you be more specific and tell us more details about what you are trying to achieve?

Regards,
Radu
