Open/save-as recently opened items list is empty
Hi,
I use Oxygen 9.1 on Windows Vista. The open or save as dialogs have an option to select recently used folders/files, which for me is consistently empty. When I still used XP it was not. This may or may not be related to the fact that I'm using a Dutch language copy of Vista (folders may have other names?)
In what may be a related problem, the desktop item in the dialog does not show proper names but some kind of internal identifiers. See the image below.
Best,
Peter

Hello,
It is a problem of compatibility between the Java virtual machine and Windows Vista. oXygen does not set the content of the Open / Save as dialog but the Java virtual machine sets that. This is true for both the names of the Desktop items and the content of the Recent folder. What Java version do you have on your Vista computer? You can see it in the System properties tab of the Help -> About dialog, the java.vm.version property.
Regards,
Sorin

The problems of the Open/Save dialog are not related to the language used in Windows Vista. They are caused by an incomplete integration between the implementation of the JVM and Windows Vista. The internal identifiers displayed on the Desktop was also a problem on Windows XP for some versions of the JVM.
