The help topic does not open when running on a local machine or network drive.
I usually generate help output on my C drive or network drive to test before deploying it to the application's QA environment on the server. Then I right-click on the index.html file > Open with > Chrome. Normally, the help page opens with the default topic (the first topic), and everything works fine: I can click on the book icon to see the parent topics, or click on a subtopic to view its content. Simple!
But today is different. When I click on the book icon in the Table of Contents (TOC), the subtopics appear, but when I click on a topic, the content only displays for a moment before returning to the default page (the first topic). I can't view any topics other than the first one in the ditamap.
When deployed to the QA environment (on the server), the help works normally, both when accessed via URL and within the application.
I tried it on MS Edge and encountered the same problem, and my colleague also experienced this issue with their project. So, the problem isn't due to Chrome or my individual setup.
Does anyone know the cause? Is this a browser security issue or an Oxygen issue? Is there a way to test directly on my local machine/network drive without deploying to the QA server?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us!
Could you please provide us more details about this problem?
What version of Oxygen XML do currently use? Also, how do you obtain the WebHelp output, from the Oxygen XML GUI? Or you use WebHelp plugin from the command line? Do you have any customizations?
