Table selection no longer allowing the selection of cells across rows

XML Author 26.1, build 2024091606
In the Author view (as opposed to the Text or Grid view) of the DITA framework, the ability to select table cells vertically for the purpose of spanning has abruptly stopped working. Persists across restarts of Oxygen and reboots of the computer as a whole. One day it worked, the next day it didn't. Does anyone have any advice on what might have changed or where to start in troubleshooting this?

Hi Jeff,
Oxygen can change its behavior either by changing global settings or maybe you made some changes in the DITA XML table which caused this situation. Or maybe some change in the operating system related to mouse events. Could you prepare for us a small DITA XML table along with steps to reproduce the problem?
