running oxygen xml executable does nothing.

I'm running Linux Fedora 8. here is my java:

java version "1.7.0"
IcedTea Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0-b21)
IcedTea Client VM (build 1.7.0-b21, mixed mode)

I've downloaded and tried both the Linux version and the All platforms version.

when I start the program - on Linux it's the oxygen.sh file, the registration box loads up and I enter my trial license and click register. The box goes away, but nothing happens. I've waited and waited and the editor never appears.

I've tried canceling out of the registration prompt but the same thing happens. I'm not getting any kind of meaningful output either form the command line.

What can I do? I really need to get this working as soon as possible.

Thanks.

Hello,

Please note that Java 1.7.0 is still in early access state. oXygen does not support Java 1.7 before reaching stable final state. Usually many bugs are fixed shortly before the final release. Please set a Java virtual machine version 1.5 or 1.6 for running oXygen (the first note of the installation procedure for your platform).

Ok. My bad. I should have noticed that in the installation procedure.

For those of you who might end up in my situation, here is an install guide for Fedora to get the 1.6 version of java installed:

http://fedorasolved.org/browser-solutions/java-i386/

everywhere on this page where you see "jre1.6.0_03" you will have to change that to "jre1.6.0_04" or whatever verions of the JRE you downloaded.

Hope this helps someone else out. And thanks for the comment.
