Issues with Schema Validation in Oxygen XML Editor
Post by wishforbes »
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working with Oxygen XML for a while, but recently I’ve been running into some issues with schema validation that are driving me nuts!
Here’s the situation:
I'm working on an XML document that uses XSD for validation.
I’ve attached the correct schema file and specified the right namespace.
The problem is that when I try to validate the XML, I get errors about elements not being declared in the schema, even though they are.
What I've Tried:
Rechecked the paths for schema references – everything looks fine.
Validated the XSD file itself to ensure it’s valid – no issues there.
Cleared the cache and restarted Oxygen XML.
Tried using a different XSD file with a simple test XML – same issue.
The Error Message I Get:
xml
Element 'exampleElement' is not declared in the 'exampleNamespace'.
I’m kind of stuck at this point. Has anyone faced a similar issue? Could this be a bug, or am I missing something obvious? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

It sounds like the issue might be related to how Oxygen XML is associating the schema with your XML document. A couple of things to check:
Ensure that the XML file is referencing the correct namespace URI and that it exactly matches the one defined in the XSD.
Verify that the XSD is properly declared in your XML using either the xsi:schemaLocation or xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation attribute.
Try running the validation with a different parser to see if it's specific to Oxygen.
Hope this helps! rice purity score
