I did install version 24.1 for macOS 10.12 and later on macOS Ventura 13.1 and still cannot successfully start oXygen. Trying to start running oxygen.sh in the terminal, I get the following error
Code: Select all
WARNING: A terminally deprecated method in java.lang.System has been called
WARNING: System::setSecurityManager has been called by ro.sync.security.manager.SandboxSecurityManagerInstaller (file:/Applications/Office-Research/XML/Oxygen%20XML%20Editor/lib/oxygen-sandbox.jar)
WARNING: Please consider reporting this to the maintainers of ro.sync.security.manager.SandboxSecurityManagerInstaller
WARNING: System::setSecurityManager will be removed in a future release

Re: Oxygen 24.1 is crashing as soon as it opens
Hi,
Those are just warning messages in the Terminal, not errors. They are not relevant to the startup issue. They appear all the time with Java 17. We cannot hide them, Java insists on forcing them upon the end user.

Actually, you may want to read the topic that I mentioned in my previous post. It says there that:I did install version 24.1 for macOS 10.12 and later on macOS Ventura 13.1 and still cannot successfully start oXygen.
So, if you do have such a new Mac, for v24.1 you should be downloading "macOS 11 and later (Apple silicon*) (Includes OpenJDK 17.0.2)":If your Mac is a 2020 or later model with Apple silicon CPU, you should use the Apple silicon distribution of Oxygen (Universal starting with v25.0).
