"Update the reference to the image" doesn't update the reference?

Hello,
In the documentation (https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/ ... -menu.html) it says:

Save image as
Available when the contextual menu is invoked on a local, external, or embedded image. This action opens a dialog box where you can choose a location in the local file system where the image will be saved. It also includes an option (Update the reference to the image) that can be toggled to choose whether or not to update the path in existing references to the image.

Could it be that the "Update the reference to the image" setting does not work properly? Only the path to the image that I save in a different location is changed. Any other paths to the original image in the same or in other topics are not changed. And the original image remains in also in its original location so that it is now saved twice. Is that intentional, or did I just misunderstand the concept behind this option?

Hi Christina,

Yes, this is how the "Save image as" works, it's not a "Rename image file name in the entire project" kind of thing, it's more limited, useful more when for example the reference is to an image on the web and I want to save it locally.
To rename/move an image, a topic, map or some other resource and have all references updated, you can do that in the Oxygen Project view once the DITA Main Files support is enabled:
