eXist 6.0.0

Post by mgraauw »

eXist 6.0.0 mentions problems for OxygenXML in the blog (https://exist-db.org/exist/apps/wiki/bl ... eXistdb600). Yesterday I installed 6.0.0 and Oxygen seems to work fine with it: I can create and delete collections and files, execute xqueries etc. Are there any known problems I missed? If so is there a fix expected? We rely on Oxygen for eXist a lot, and for security reasons would like to move to eXist 6.x instead of 5.x

Hi,
We noticed the 6.0.0 release and have an internal issue to test our integration with it before Oxygen 24.1 is released (in March this year).
But we have not yet upgraded our internal Exist test server and run our automated test cases.
So if the integration works, you can continue using it, if you notice any problem please tell us.

Radu

Hi Radu, I got feedback from someone that there were some problems with eXist6+Oxygen when using ACL's - I don't use those myself, so I don't have this problem, but this is an area you might want to check when testing eXist 6

Hi,

I'll keep this in mind, what does ACL stand for? Access Control Lists? If you find out more information from your friend about how they configured the Exist server and what connection problems they encountered in Oxygen we could try to set up something similar on our side and test.

Hi,

Our QA team did not find any problems using Oxygen with Exist 6.0.1, if any will arise we'll probably fix them as they are reported.
