FIle open window

Post by RogerP »

Apologies if this has been posted before (couldn't find anything though).

Is it just my installation? When I select open file, and choose 'details' in the 'Open' window, I can (of course) see the usual headings. I sort by date and open the most recent file.

If I do this a second time, on selecting 'details', instead of date/time under the 'Modified' column heading, I get file type information. No date/time info. at all.

Anyone else seen this behaviour?

Thanks,

RogerP

Hello,

I get the file type in the Modified column only with a Java 1.6.0 virtual machine. It is a bug in the AWT file dialog component that comes with Java 1.6.0. You have to use Java 1.5.0 or Java 1.4.2 to see the correct modification date/time of the files in the Modified column of the file dialog.

Hi Sorin,

Yes, I do have Java 1.6.

I can't remember, but when I install <oXygen/>, does it ask which JRE to use? If so, I could re-install it and switch the jre.

I also have that "out-of-memory" error (reported elsewhere in this forum), so I run <oXygen/> from a .bat file. Will that problem disappear if I go back to J1.5?

I am using J1.6 for some development work, so I will live with the problems if the answers to the above are 'no'.

Thx.

No. oXygen will run in the JRE specified in the oxygen.ini file or detected from the Windows registry if it is started from the Start menu shortcut or the desktop shortcut. If it is started with oxygen.bat the full path to the JRE is specified in oxygen.bat otherwise the default JRE is used.

I think you mean this problem. No, it will not disappear. We did not receive a fix yet from the developers of the Windows installer application.

Hi Sorin,

Thanks for the reply. I pointed it at jre 1.5 in the oxygen.bat and that cured the problem.

Yes, I do mean that one. I'll wait...
