Hi Joel,

If you work with XML documents then oXygen will automatically detect the encoding of the file when you open it based on the byte order mark, the first characters in the file and the encoding pseudo attribute from the XML header. When you save the file oXygen will use the encoding specified in the header.
If you work with non XML file then there is an option in Options->Preferences -- Global -- Encoding for non XML files.
