Windows 98 SE: Out of Environment Space

Post by seanwhe »

Version 2.0.4, on WIN98SE.

When I invoke Oxy using oxygen.bat I get the message "Out of Environment Space and the application is not started.

I can run it from the exe, but it is very slow on all browse dialogs and on opening files.

Any ideas?

Hi Sean,

If I remember right you should be able to specify the environment memory if you right click on oxygen.bat and select properties. You should select the maximum environment memory (4096?).

Make sure you do not have a floppy disk or a CD inserted as this might cause the open dialogs to work slower.

Hope that helps,
George

OK,

On Win98SE, with JRE1.4.2 for version 2.0.4. This problem can be solved by setting the Memory variable "Initial Environment" to its max of 4096 from the Properties dialog of oxygen.bat.

Thanks. BTW. version 2.0.4 rocks.
